Our spirulina salts are a modification of the media from Aiba, S. & Ogawa, T. (1977) and Schlösser (1994). Our nutrient media is a modification of Guillard and Ryther (1962) original formula for growing freshwater and seawater strains of algae. This complete media kit includes everything to maintain pH and keep your spirulina happy and healthy!
This media kit includes only the nutrients and salts you will add to water to continue the growth of your algae. If you need all the supplies at once, consider our Spirulina Culture Kit which contains everything you need to grow a laboratory-grade culture at home
TO GROW ALGAE YOU WILL NEED: A starting culture, chlorine-free water, a growing vessel (such as a 10-gallon fish tank), air supply (small air pump, not the band, but if you could get the band to sing to the culture- that would be amazing!).
