The Freshwater Black Mussel is an amazing creature that can be found in Asia. They are living filters that will remove uneaten foods and detritus from your aquarium, causing nitrate levels to drop and help maintain your aquarium water clean and clear.
This Freshwater Black Mussel, as the name suggests, has a thick, black shell, and loves to bury itself in finer substrates. They are extremely peaceful and can be housed with inverts and other non-aggressive fish.
Mussels will obtain their nutrients by filtering. Additional supplements can be offered in the form of invert pellets or sticks.
These are great animals for any aquarium and ponds.

It is possible that some mussels will have shell damage due to wild encounters.
